Pictured above are two examples of play areas that we put together using brown treated timbers, and
4-6 inches of pea gravel. Doing this eliminated mowing headaches, gave the kids a place of their own,
and is safer for your kids than just leaving the area under the play set grass. Using pea gravel (or wood
mulch, or sand) in a 4-6 inch depth, gives a very soft area to play in. There is also a thick heavy duty
fabric under the mulch to prevent weeds from coming up. The frame around the set is 5x6 or 6x6
landscape timbers, either brown or green treated so they will last. The timbers are anchored into the
ground to withstand all of the abuse your kids can throw at them.

Whether on a large flat surface, or on a hill, we can build up the timbers to create that flat area for the
kids to play in. Your play area will not move!  Any size that you want can be created, please consult your
play set manufacturer for size requirements.

woods, and one on a hill side.
